Regular, Relaxed Play

There are no formal sign-ups to join a Gaming Group. Certain days of the month are designated as regular game days, so you can join anytime. Our Gaming Groups are the most relaxed and informal way to play, and they’re ideal for anyone starting out who has little to no experience!

Gaming Groups and Game Days

Bolt Action

Game Days: Bolt Action players meet the second Saturday of every EVEN MONTH to participate in a large-scale gaming event. Each event focuses on a specific theater or battle from WWII. Be sure to check the calendar for the next big campaign!

What’s Bolt Action?

Bolt Action is a miniature tabletop game that utilizes miniature game pieces, dice, and various gaming terrain. It is a historical-based game set in World War II, and your armies are comprised of various types of either Allied or Axis forces and vehicles.

About the Group:

While formal game days are every other month, Bolt Action players also do drop-in gaming on various days. If you’re interested in playing an informal game with someone, we recommend joining our main Facebook group, The Ogre’s DENizen Gamers. There, you can post your interest in playing and find an opponent.

Want to learn how to play Bolt Action? Call us to schedule a demo session!

Konflikt '47

Game Days: Konflikt ’47 players meet the third Saturday every ODD MONTH for either open play or a large-scale gaming event. Events center on an original storyline of battle in post-WWII. Be sure to check the calendar for the next game day!

What’s Konflikt 47?

If you’ve played Bolt Action, Konflikt 47 adds “weirder” dynamics to the game! In this post-WWII miniature wargame, you can use regular foot soldiers in your armies. BUT, by upgrading to the more sci-fi-related troop choices (i.e. werewolves, zombies, and heavy power-armoured infantry), you add the other-wordly element that gives Konflikt ’47 its signature appeal.

About the Group:

While formal game days are every other month, we encourage drop-in gaming anytime, provided tables are not being used for other scheduled games. If you’re interested in playing an informal game with someone, you can join our main Group on Facebook, The Ogre’s DENizen Gamers. There, you can post your interest in playing and find an opponent.

If you’ve never played Konflikt ’47, give us a call to arrange a demo session!

Warlords of Erehwon

Game Days: Warlords of Erehwon meets the first Saturday each month for open play.

What’s Warlords of Erehwon?

Warlords of Erehwon (which is “Nowhere” spelled backwards) is a fantasy-based minis game that uses the same D10 system as Beyond the Gates of Antares. Players assemble warbands based on one of the 12 current races: Barbarians, Beastman, Dwarf, Elven, Gnoll War Party, Goblin, Halfling, Knightly Retinue, Olympian, Orc, Undead, and Monsters. It is not a mass-battle, nor a skirmishing game. The number of minis used can range from 20-6o.

About the Group:

This is the newest gaming group at the Den. Several players also regularly play Bolt Action and/or Konflikt ’47.

Want to learn how to play Warlords of Erehwon? Give us a call to arrange a demo session!

Warhammer 40k

Game Days: Every Thursday night, 6-9pm

What’s Warhammer 40k?

Warhammer 40k is a dystopian, sci-fi-themed miniature wargame that is set in the far future. The game includes multiple factions and races that wage war against each other across the galaxy.

About the Group:

This group meets every Thursday night for informal gameplay, and newbies are welcome to join! It’s ideal if you want to play on a regular basis with different players, or even learn how to play. We recommend posting the armies you’re bringing on our Facebook Group.

Would you like to schedule a demo and learn the basics? Give us a call!

Note: Unlike for Leagues and Tournaments, your miniatures do not have to meet a 3-paint minimum requirement to participate in this game night.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Game Days: Meets every Sunday, 12-5pm

What’s Warhammer Age of Sigmar?

Age of Sigmar is a fantasy-based, melee and magic-oriented skirmish miniatures game within the Warhammer game system. Example of popular armies include Daemons of Nurgle and Stormcast Eternals.

About the Group:

This group meets for open play every Sunday, unless there is an Age of Sigmar event scheduled. All skill levels are welcome. If you’re new, group members are always enthusiastic about teaching the ropes! Informal games take place each week, unless there is an Age of Sigmar League in progress or a tournament scheduled.

If you’d like to get info on our Age of Sigmar gaming specifically, you can join the Age of Sigmar Gamers Group on Facebook. There, you can learn about different aspects of AoS, tips on miniatures, as well as find out what armies players will bring for open play gaming on Sundays.
