Coronavirus Concerns at The Ogre’s Den Gaming

In light of the local spread and global coronavirus pandemic, we want to address concerns and precautions you should take if you plan to come in to The Ogre’s Den to make purchases or play a game.

First, we’d like to express our concern for our community. We realize the disruption this health crisis is causing in everyone’s lives. At the very least, we all need to take the proper precautions, and stay updated as much as possible.

On a state-wide level, Governor Newsom has issued Guidance for public gatherings through the end of March. While we typically host smaller groups at our place of business, the nature of tabletop gaming does involve in-person, social contact.

Precautions to take if you come to the Den

We’d like to remind and enforce the following at The Ogre’s Den, effective immediately:

  • If you are sick and/or experiencing typical symptoms caused by colds, the flu, and even severe seasonal allergies, please stay home. Know the difference between the symptoms that you might experience from the flu, allergies, or the coronavirus.
  • Please mind your personal hygiene — bring hand sanitizer or wipes and mind your personal items. Wash your hands in our restroom facility often.
  • If you do cough or sneeze, please cover your mouth. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, arm, or a tissue and promptly throw the tissue away. Follow up with good hand-washing.
  • If you or your loved ones should experience any of the warning signs of the coronavirus, please stay home and seek medical help.

Regarding our upcoming events and weekly activities:

  • We’re postponing the Blood Bowl Tournament scheduled for Sat 3/21. Future date TBD.
  • Age of Sigmar League players will be contacted regarding the last round, scheduled for Sun 3/22.
  • The Bolt Action: Operation Husky Event scheduled for Sat 3/28 will remain on the schedule for now. We will post an update in the coming week on whether it will be postponed.
  • Any special events scheduled after the end of March will still remain on the schedule until further notice.
  • Regular weekly gaming groups (including Warhammer 40k, Age of Sigmar, Paint and Hobby Days, and RPGs) are still planned as normal, as these are not large events. Please use common sense guidelines mentioned above if you come in for casual gaming.

We are open for business

The Ogre’s Den Gaming will remain open for business! Know that we continue to clean and disinfect our facility several times during the day. And we will continue to post updates in the coming weeks on all Ogre’s Den events and activities.

Your health is important, so we understand if you decide to avoid social gaming in the next few weeks or month. We hope you stay healthy and continue to follow the best practices as we all fight through this.
