    Narrative Synopsis:

Every Warp-touched being in a thousand-system radius felt the violent emergence of the planet as it tore itself free from its long journey through the warp, gently and perfectly resuming its old orbit. The long presumed destroyed Eldar Maiden World of Menel has finally torn itself from its millenia-long journey through the Immaterium, the arduous process of terraforming complete. The Farseers spoke of the return of the Lost Craftworld Ctho, but none knew it would it come in the form of the planet where they were said to have hidden their greatest secrets. The call goes out to every petty spacefaring barony, xenos marauder, and secret society in the sector, the siren song of an undisturbed cache of the ancient Aeldari empire’s secrets, technology, and treasures. Soon word reaches the High Lords of Terra and then issues the challenge — the first Imperial force to claim the planet will have perpetual settlement rights to it.

Now, the skies over the maiden world are thick with ship debris and lance fire, with contingents from the Imperial Navy, the Tau Empire, the blackstone vessels of the Necron, and a dozen others all fighting a pitched and bloody battle for void supremacy. Without warning, the Behemoth-Class Battlecruiser Khorne’s Axe emerges from the same rift in the Immaterium that delivered Menel into reality, smashing cleanly through the makeshift blockades of the other factions. Hundreds of landing ships and drop pods launching themselves from the belly of the great lumbering beast to the lush maiden world below. With their battlelines in disarray, the remaining factions scramble to their landing crafts.

Guardsmen pray softly for the Emperor’s beneficence as they pile into their landers. Astartes ready their bolters as their drop pods scream down to the surface. The Farseers sing a song of lament for the the Pride of Ctho, an ancient, exquisite masterpiece millenia in the making, despoiled by the hungry hand of fate and the endless appetites of the lesser races so soon after its return. The Battle for Menel begins…

    Warhammer 40k Thursday game night

Warhammer 40k is a dystopian, sci-fi-themed miniature wargame set in the far future. This group meets every Thursday night for informal play (for 40k or Kill Team) and is open to all. We suggest you post what armies you’re bringing on our Facebook Group page (you must join to see all posts!).

The group is a great way for newbies to learn and practice. It’s also ideal to play-test armies for tournaments. Want to learn how to play? Schedule a demo with Joe!
