SFS 1-27: King Xeros of Star Azlant

    Character levels 5-8
    Written by Christopher Wasko

When a relic dating back to the times of Old Golarion docks in a remote space station, the Azlanti Star Empire takes notice and quickly seizes it. The Starfinder Society dispatches the PCs to stop the Azlanti and reclaim the relic: the ether ship known as the King Xeros. With little time to hamper the Azlanti’s upgrades on the strange magical vessel, the PCs must overcome the now functional starship. Only by claiming the King Xeros can the Starfinder Society learn more about its predecessor organization’s past.

King Xeros of Star Azlant is a spiritual successor to the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild scenario, Pathfinder Society #20: King Xeros of Old Azlant. It also works as further content for players who’ve played, or are in the process of playing through, the Against the Aeon Throne adventure path.

    Released November 2018.

This league is geared for beginners and newbies to the Beyond the Gates of Antares miniatures wargame.

Dates: Starts Fri 9/14 from 7-10pm, and will run bi-weekly for 4 months (total of 8 games)

Limit: Max number of players is 10. We’ll sign up in teams.

Fee: $10 goes to prize support

Register: Contact Joe at the store to sign up

This league is being run by Denizen and Warlord Games Sarge, Steven G.!

    Schedule:

    • Game 1: 300 points, no vehicles- Don’t worry about paint for the first game, just play!
    • Game 2: 300 points, no vehicles- 3-color table ready paint from here on out.
    • Game 3: 400 points, no vehicles
    • Game 4: 500 points
    • Game 5: 600 points (using the 750pt selector)
    • Game 6: 700 points
    • Game 7: 850 points (using the 750 pt selector)
    • Game 8: 1,000 points

Summary of the game and league:

Welcome to Beyond the Gates of Antares, a science-fiction miniatures game set in the immensely distant future of the Human race. This league is for beginners and will create the story of a previously unexplored system of planets, each one resource rich in different ways, and all highly sought after by the major factions of the nexus.

We will play on a bi-weekly schedule. We’ll play the first game with small forces (really only a couple squads), and it will be an orientation night. Come learn the basics of the game with a couple squads and prepare for Game 2 when the narrative begins!

There is a max of 10 players. We’ll sign up in teams, and the composition of which will be determined once sign-ups are complete.

    Victory Points:

Points will be very simple — victory conditions will vary from scenario to scenario and so will the points earned in each individual match. For our purposes, at the end of the night, a win will earn you 2 points on the leaderboard, a draw will earn each player 1 point, and a loss will not earn any. Each player will also earn points for their team for simply attending the game nights (1 cumulative point for each consecutive game night attended).

    Prizes:

Will be determined once they come in, but will be awarded! We have the support of both the Den and Warlord Games for this league.

    Story/Background:

With the 7th Antarean Age well under way, the wars for control of the Gates have brought the major factions to a new Gate. The Gate opens into the Go’orel System- 8 planets orbiting a smaller blue giant. 5 of the planets are rocky and habitable, and cursory scans have revealed that the planets appear to be only sparsely inhabited by primitive civilizations which are more-or-less unaware of one another; their capacity for space travel seems to be non-existent! The planets also appear to be incredibly resource rich. Each Faction has decided that the system should be colonized.
