    • Game 6: 700 points
    • Game 7: 850 points (using the 750 pt selector)
    • Game 8: 1,000 points

Summary of the game and league:

Welcome to Beyond the Gates of Antares, a science-fiction miniatures game set in the immensely distant future of the Human race. This league is for beginners and will create the story of a previously unexplored system of planets, each one resource rich in different ways, and all highly sought after by the major factions of the nexus.

We will play on a bi-weekly schedule. We’ll play the first game with small forces (really only a couple squads), and it will be an orientation night. Come learn the basics of the game with a couple squads and prepare for Game 2 when the narrative begins!

There is a max of 10 players. We’ll sign up in teams, and the composition of which will be determined once sign-ups are complete.

    Victory Points:

Points will be very simple — victory conditions will vary from scenario to scenario and so will the points earned in each individual match. For our purposes, at the end of the night, a win will earn you 2 points on the leaderboard, a draw will earn each player 1 point, and a loss will not earn any. Each player will also earn points for their team for simply attending the game nights (1 cumulative point for each consecutive game night attended).

    Prizes:

Will be determined once they come in, but will be awarded! We have the support of both the Den and Warlord Games for this league.

    Story/Background:

With the 7th Antarean Age well under way, the wars for control of the Gates have brought the major factions to a new Gate. The Gate opens into the Go’orel System- 8 planets orbiting a smaller blue giant. 5 of the planets are rocky and habitable, and cursory scans have revealed that the planets appear to be only sparsely inhabited by primitive civilizations which are more-or-less unaware of one another; their capacity for space travel seems to be non-existent! The planets also appear to be incredibly resource rich. Each Faction has decided that the system should be colonized.

  • SG: Bolt Action Olympics Tourney Lite (11am – 7pm)
    12:00 pm-7:00 pm
    October 20, 2018

    Bolt Action Olympics Tournament

    WHAT: Bolt Action Olympics

    DATE: Sat October 20, 2018

TIME: Please arrive at 11am and be ready to play. We’ll begin promptly at 11:30!

PLAYERS: 16 players max — 8 from the Axis Powers, 8 from the Allies

COST: $15 per person (If you want to play and cannot afford the fee, we can work something out.)

FOOD: $5 buy-in for “all you can eat” burgers (sodas, etc. available for purchase at the Ogre’s snack bar)

REGISTER: There is no registration cut-off date. Open until all spots are filled. RSVP in the Facebook event post and comment what army you will be bringing!

    PLAYER/GAME SPECIFICS:
Build a “jack of all trades” list to be competitive at each type of scenario. Each player will build a list from their national general selector, using only 1 reinforced platoon.

Start with a 500 point list, then add 250 to make a 750 list and then again add 250 to make a 1000 point list. 3 lists total, building off each subsequent list.

Keep in mind the following restrictions:
    – Only 2 veteran units allowed (including medics)
    – One armored vehicle with armor value of 7-9 is required at 1000 point level

This tourney lite will be played on 8 tables, each representing different environments and objectives typical to WWII. 4 tables will be equal force-on-force engagements, 4 will be unequal force defend/attack scenarios. Everyone will play both types in the first two games.

Axis players will only play against Allies and vice versa.

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. (There will be Warlord Prize Support and Ogre’s Den Gift Cards.) 1st place is determined by the player with the most overall points, and who comes from the National power that wins the overall campaign.

Please bring a copy of the rule book, as the scenarios will be taken directly from the text. Although this is a competitive game day, it will also have a narrative element. As always, come to have fun with your fellow war gamers. Battle is nearly always out of control – the moment it begins.

So thankful to be part of this community. May the best commander win.
